Jérémy Jacquet has made the best start of any Premier League summer signing in 2026. Eight league games in, the 21-year-old centre-back scores 8.7 out of 10 on the Scout52 Score at Liverpool, just ahead of Elliot Anderson at Manchester City and Jan Paul van Hecke at Tottenham, both on 8.6. We ranked every senior summer signing who has played at least 360 league minutes, half of what was available: 51 outfield players and 6 goalkeepers.
How to read this: Premier League matches only, to Sunday 25 October 2026, eight games per club. Score so far is the Scout52 Score out of 10 for this season at the new club, judged against Premier League players in the same position. The list covers senior summer 2026 signings (aged 22 or over when they signed, or 600+ league minutes the season before), loans included, with at least 360 league minutes. Share is minutes out of the 720 available, so deadline-day signings had fewer games to play. Archetypes need 600 minutes, so only 18 players have one yet. 2025/26 is last season's Score in the league he played in, judged against that league's level: † marks a league outside the top five, where a higher number is normal, and ‡ marks fewer than 900 minutes. Eight games is a first read, not a verdict.
The Top 10 So Far
1. Jérémy Jacquet, Liverpool
Liverpool paid Rennes a reported £55m for Jacquet, and he has played 685 of a possible 720 league minutes. He already grades as an Elite Central Defender, with Defensive 9.5 and Duels 8.8, and his Score is up from 7.2 in Ligue 1. In Liverpool 0-3 Man City: The Summer Signings Compared he was Liverpool's one bright spot on 8.7 after 505 minutes. Two more games have not moved him.
2. Elliot Anderson, Manchester City
The £116m signing from Nottingham Forest has locked in as a Deep Playmaker: Passing 9.8, Duels 9.6, Ball Carry 9.5. His 8.6 sits just under the 8.8 he managed at Forest, which is what you want from a player stepping into a better side. One assist, no goals, and that was never the job.
3. Jan Paul van Hecke, Tottenham
Van Hecke has played every league minute since leaving Brighton and grades as an Elite Ball-Playing Defender, with Passing 9.7 and Duels 9.0. He's up from 8.4 last season and has a goal.
4 and 5. Nicolas Jackson and Morgan Rogers
The two forwards who moved in opposite directions between Chelsea and Aston Villa both have four league goals. Jackson, who spent 2025/26 on loan at Bayern Munich, has 8.3 at Villa, with Goal Threat 9.1 and Ball Carry 8.9. Morgan Rogers has four goals and an assist for Chelsea, a locked-in Inside Forward archetype and 8.2, up from 6.2 at Villa. We follow Rogers and the other 18 transfers we analysed this summer in Summer Signings, Second Verdict.
6 to 10
Enzo Fernández has 8.0 at City from 458 minutes, with Passing 9.5. Ezri Konsa has climbed to 7.9, a full point above last season at Villa, and scored against Everton on 24 October. Sandro Tonali (7.8, up from 6.5 at Newcastle) is another Deep Playmaker in Tottenham's midfield. Luka Vušković, 19, has 7.8 at Brighton after a season on loan at Hamburg. Shea Charles has 7.8 at Fulham after stepping up from Southampton in the Championship, with Defensive and Passing both on 9.5. Jordan Henderson is just outside the ten, also on 7.8, with two goals and an assist for Chelsea from exactly 360 minutes at 36.

The Goalkeepers
Keepers are scored on their own model, so they get their own table. James Trafford leads after leaving Manchester City for Leeds, already an Elite Ball-Playing Goalkeeper, though his 2025/26 Score came from only 372 minutes as City's back-up. Konstantinos Tzolakis has played every minute for promoted Hull City since arriving from Olympiacos.

Where They Came From
Split the 51 outfield signings by where they played last season and a clear pattern shows up early. The 23 who were already in the Premier League average 6.1, the same as last season. The 18 from La Liga, the Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1 have dropped from 6.7 to 6.1. The 10 from outside the top five have dropped the furthest, from 7.6 to 5.2.
Some of that drop is built in. A Score is judged against the level of the league a player is in, so a 7.6 in Belgium, Portugal or the Championship was never the same as a 7.6 in the Premier League. What matters is how much of the level travels, and eight games in, players who already know the league have carried the most.

Still Adapting
These are the signings whose numbers so far sit furthest below what they did last season. Eight games is a short run, and every one of them has time to change it.
Bradley Barcola, Liverpool (5.7, from 8.3). The £123m forward has no league goal in 425 minutes and a Goal Threat of 0.2, the part of his game we expected to travel. The rest of it has: Defensive 8.4, Chance Creation 8.2, and assists in each of his last two games, against Brentford and Brighton.
Mamadou Sangaré, Brentford (5.7, from 8.1). Defensive 9.5 says the ball-winning has made the step up. He played 21, 38 and 45 minutes in three straight league games before a full 90 against Hull City on 25 October.
Christos Tzolis, Arsenal (6.2, from 8.9†). Chance Creation 9.0 from 365 minutes, but he hasn't played in the league since 19 September and missed the games on 18 and 24 October with a hamstring injury.
António Silva, Bournemouth (6.1, from 8.0†). Every league minute since leaving Benfica, a Ball-Playing Defender archetype and Duels 9.1, but the Score is two points down on last season in Portugal.
Gonzalo García, Fulham (2.4, from 6.3). The former Real Madrid forward has played 673 minutes, 93% of what was available, with one goal. With 600 minutes behind him he grades as a Limited Attacker for now.
Elliot Stroud, Hull City, and Caleb Yirenkyi, Coventry. Both scored above 8 last season, in Sweden and Denmark. Both are below 3.5 so far. That is the biggest step up on the list, and the clearest example of why last season's number needs reading against the league it came from.
Not Enough Minutes Yet
Several of the signings people are watching most haven't reached 360 league minutes, so they are not ranked. These are their first reads.
Bruno Guimarães
Two league goals from 239 minutes across six appearances. A first read of 8.0, close to his 8.5 at Newcastle.
Johan Manzambi
Two goals and two assists from 323 minutes. A first read of 8.7, which would put the club-record signing near the top of the list once he qualifies.
Chema Andrés
A goal and an assist from 344 minutes, 16 short of the cut. A first read of 6.5.
Carlos Baleba
Missed August and September with an ankle injury, then played 31 minutes against Tottenham on 10 October, 74 against Leeds and 72 against Bournemouth.
20 senior summer signings haven't played a league minute yet, 10 of them goalkeepers. Among the outfield players are Taylor Harwood-Bellis at Aston Villa, Ollie Azeez at Brighton and Yann Gboho at Coventry.
Six of the top 10 moved within the league
Anderson, van Hecke, Rogers, Enzo Fernández, Konsa and Tonali all changed Premier League clubs this summer. Jacquet, signed from Rennes, is the only player in the top 10 bought from a club outside England, and the signings from outside the top five leagues have so far kept the least of last season's level.
It's an early read on 51 players, but it matches what recruitment departments already price in: a player who knows the league costs more because he settles faster. The question for every club with a slow starter is whether the gap closes by Christmas.
The Research Behind It
Our summer-signings series looks at the market from every angle. The Best Route Into the Premier League uses every summer signing from 2022 to 2025 to show which leagues produce players who carry their level across. Which Premier League Clubs Sign Best? ranks the clubs on four summers of signings, and Does Injury History Follow a Signing? looks at whether a player's injury record moves with him. For the 19 transfers we analysed this summer, read Summer Signings, Second Verdict.
The Bottom Line
Jacquet, Anderson and van Hecke have made the best starts of the Premier League's summer signings, and seven of the top 10 played in England last season. The slow starters include some of the biggest fees, Barcola most of all, but eight games and an archetype threshold of 600 minutes mean this is a first read. We'll run the table again once every signing has had a fair go.
