Using the Player Database

A complete walkthrough of all four tabs — My Players, Search, Rankings, and Compare — plus the Player Insights profile.

Overview

The Player Database is accessed by tapping the Players icon in the main navigation. It is the central hub for managing, discovering, ranking, and comparing every player your scouting operation tracks.

At the top of the screen are four tabs — My Players, Search, Rankings, and Compare — along with a view toggle in the top-right corner that switches between a card layout and a sortable table layout.

Two views available

The card view shows each player with full detail at a glance — stats, scores, tags, and action icons. The table view presents the same players in a compact, sortable spreadsheet layout, useful when you need to scan or sort a large list quickly by rating, appearances, or archetype.

My Players

1

My Players

The default tab. Shows every player currently saved to your database, displayed as a running count (e.g. "My Players (110)"). This is your scouting database — everyone you're actively tracking lives here.

Search and filter

A search bar at the top lets you filter instantly by typing a player's name or club. Next to it, the Filters button expands a full filter panel:

Position
GK, DEF, MID, ATT
Age Range
Slider to set minimum and maximum age
Nationality
Filter by country of birth
Club
Filter by current club
League
Filter by competition
Archetype
Any of the 19 playing style archetypes
List Status
Longlist, Shortlist, Watchlist, Targetlist, or Sign
Trajectory
Whether a player is trending up or down in form

Below the main filters are Composite Minimums sliders for all six scores — Defensive, Chance Creation, Goal Threat, Ball Carry, Passing, and Work Rate. Set a minimum threshold for any score to show only players meeting your quality bar. A Reset Filters link clears everything back to default.

How to use Composite Minimums effectively

Defensive, Chance Creation, Goal Threat, and Ball Carry all have low medians across the player pool — setting a minimum of 5.0+ for any of these immediately isolates genuinely distinctive players. Passing and Work Rate have high medians (~7.5), so set minimums of 9.0+ to find real outliers in those dimensions.

What each player card shows

Each entry displays: club, nationality, position, height, date of birth and age, playing archetype, overall score, and form trend. Appearance stats, goal contributions, and composite scores are summarised at a glance.

Player card action icons

Five icons sit on the right of every player card:

Refresh

Pulls the latest stats for that player from the API

Bar Chart

Opens the full Player Insights profile for a deep dive

Clipboard

Opens a Create Action form to log scouting activity — meeting date, time, location, lead scout, parent contacts, and outcome notes

Plus

Adds the player to a pipeline list

Trash

Removes the player from your database entirely

Pipeline lists

When you tap the plus icon on any player, you can place them into one of five pipeline stages:

Longlist Shortlist Watchlist Targetlist Sign

Use the List Status filter to view your database by pipeline stage at any time — for example, showing only players currently on your Shortlist.

Search

2

Search

For discovering new players to add to your database. Splits into two search modes.

Search by Club

Type any club name to pull up their full squad for a chosen season. Browse the team and save individual players directly into My Players. Useful when you have a specific club you want to monitor comprehensively.

Search by Name / ID

Look up a specific player by typing their name (minimum four characters) or entering a known API-Football player ID. Note that club search tends to yield more accurate results than name search, particularly for players with common names.

Adding players to your database

Once you find a player in Search, saving them adds them to My Players where you can assign pipeline status, log actions, and monitor their data over time. Players don't appear in Rankings or Compare until they're saved to My Players.

Rankings

3

Rankings

Generates league-wide leaderboards so you can identify the best-performing players in any competition without needing to know who you're looking for in advance.

How to generate a ranking

Search for or select a league — type its name or pick a country from the quick-select row (England, Spain, Germany, and so on) then choose the specific competition such as the Premier League. From there:

Season
Select the season you want to rank
Position filter
All, GK, DEF, MID, or ATT
Volume
Top 40, Top 100, or All Players

Press Fetch Rankings to retrieve the data. Results display as a ranked list with each player's rating, appearances, and minutes played. A quick save icon on each row lets you add promising players straight into My Players without leaving the Rankings view.

A Refresh League Data option keeps the underlying dataset current. Once results load you can further filter or re-sort by rating.

Best use of Rankings

Use Rankings when you have a league you want to scout comprehensively rather than a specific player in mind. Fetch the top 100 defenders in the Championship, filter to DEF, and you have a league-wide shortlist to work through. Save anyone of interest and move to Player Insights for the detail.

Compare

4

Compare

Side-by-side analysis of players already saved in My Players. Select between two and eight players and the tool builds a multi-player comparison of their statistics and ratings.

Tap Add players to select from your saved database. The comparison view lays their stats and composite scores side by side so you can weigh candidates directly against each other — particularly useful when deciding who to move from Longlist to Shortlist, or who to recommend for signing.

Compare works on saved players only

Players must be in My Players before they appear in Compare. If you want to compare someone you've found in Rankings or Search, save them first then return to Compare.

Player Insights

Player Insights

Accessed by tapping the bar chart icon on any player card in My Players. Opens the dedicated full profile for that player.

The Player Insights page shows:

Profile details
Position, club, age, nationality, height
Live Insights / Data Stats toggle
Switch between the AI-generated intelligence summary and the underlying raw data
Season selector
View data from a specific season to track progression over time
Intelligence Summary
Auto-generated plain-English analysis of the player's strengths, weaknesses, and age phase context
Per-90 output stats
Goals, assists, tackles+interceptions, key passes, duel win rate, dribble success, shot accuracy
Composite scores
All six scores with percentile bands and age phase context where relevant

Player Insights is where you move from shortlisting to genuine evaluation. The filters and Rankings get you to the right candidates — Player Insights tells you whether they're right for you.
